Shakira Ali Kelley is the founding and managing partner at Ali Kelley Law, P.C. With 15 years of legal experience in complex civil litigation and criminal defense. Shakira is licensed to practice in both Texas and Florida.

Upon graduating from The University of Florida Levin College of Law, Shakira joined the Public Defender’s Office in West Palm Beach, Florida where she represented and advocated for the indigent accused. She tried over 35 jury trials to verdict and represented individuals charged with serious felonies carrying mandatory life sentences.

After working six years as an Assistant Public Defender, Shakira utilized her litigation skills and pivoted to the practice of insurance defense. She defended carriers throughout the state of Florida in first-party property, premise liability, and commercial litigation, as well as consulted on pre-suit matters. Shakira also provided analysis and coverage opinions on any potential bad faith exposure. Her diverse litigation experience gives her a unique ability to visualize a case from inception through trial, including analyzing liability and exposure prior to ligation.

Shakira went on to serve as senior corporate counsel with a Florida based insurance company, where she defended the company in hundreds of lawsuits and obtained favorable dispositive summary judgment rulings. Shakira and her family moved to Texas where she joined one of the largest title insurance companies in the country. She defended high dollar title claims and handled a broad array of title and real estate disputes through trial. Shakira joined a private firm where she represented corporations and managed their national docket. She grew her insurance defense practice with a particular focus on first-party property (homeowner’s claims) and personal injury defense.

After wearing all the hats an attorney can, Shakira founded Ali Kelley Law, P.C. to provide clients with streamlined, effective, and efficient legal services. Most legal disputes are resolved without the need for trial, and should be handled in the most cost productive, and effective manner possible. However, Shakira’s trial experience in both Texas and Florida provides her with the foundation to take a case to trial for matters that simply must be tried.

Her fierce advocacy for her clients has allowed for countless wins in the courtroom and successful resolutions pre-trial. She strongly adheres to the mantra that the best interest of the client should be the only roadmap when navigating through litigation.
